At Truv, we take data retention and deletion seriously, ensuring that customer data is managed securely and in compliance with legal requirements. Here's an overview of our practices:
1. Data Retention
- Indefinite Retention: Truv retains customer data indefinitely to improve products and provide the best experience possible. Data is stored to enhance product features and services.
- Legal Retention: In some cases, data may be retained if necessary to establish proof of a right or contract, and will be stored for the duration required by applicable laws.
2. Data Deletion
- Customer Requests: Customers can request to delete their data once their subscription ends. Deletion requests must be submitted by the customer and may require ID verification.
- Deletion Timeline: Once a deletion request is verified, Truv will hard delete the data from currently running production systems within one quarter of the request.
- Permanent Deletion: Once deleted, the data cannot be restored under any circumstances.
3. Authorized Personnel
- Only the following employees have the authority to delete customer data:
- CTO
- Security Engineer
This ensures that data deletion is managed and controlled by authorized personnel for security purposes.
4. Policy Enforcement
- Any violation of the data deletion policy may result in disciplinary action, determined based on the severity of the violation.
