What is Truv’s policy on data retention and deletion?

At Truv, we take data retention and deletion seriously, ensuring that customer data is managed securely and in compliance with legal requirements. Here's an overview of our practices:

1. Data Retention

  • Indefinite Retention: Truv retains customer data indefinitely to improve products and provide the best experience possible. Data is stored to enhance product features and services.
  • Legal Retention: In some cases, data may be retained if necessary to establish proof of a right or contract, and will be stored for the duration required by applicable laws.

2. Data Deletion

  • Customer Requests: Customers can request to delete their data once their subscription ends. Deletion requests must be submitted by the customer and may require ID verification.
  • Deletion Timeline: Once a deletion request is verified, Truv will hard delete the data from currently running production systems within one quarter of the request.
  • Permanent Deletion: Once deleted, the data cannot be restored under any circumstances.

3. Authorized Personnel

  • Only the following employees have the authority to delete customer data:
    • CTO
    • Security Engineer

This ensures that data deletion is managed and controlled by authorized personnel for security purposes.

4. Policy Enforcement

  • Any violation of the data deletion policy may result in disciplinary action, determined based on the severity of the violation.
