How does Truv handle authentication with data providers?

Truv supports two main methods of authentication with data providers, depending on the provider and integration setup:

  1. Single Sign-On (SSO) Authentication:

    • For organizations or data providers that support SSO, users can authenticate through their existing SSO system (e.g., Okta, Google Identity).
    • In this case, Truv integrates with the SSO system to allow users to log in once and securely access data from multiple providers without entering credentials repeatedly.
    • Example: If a company uses Okta for employee authentication, Truv can connect through Okta to access payroll or employment data securely.
  2. Direct Login Authentication:

    • When SSO isn’t available, users log in directly to the payroll provider (like Gusto, ADP, etc.) using their personal login credentials.
    • Once authenticated, Truv uses the authentication token from the provider to securely access the required data (such as income or employment information) for verification.
    • Example: A user logs directly into their ADP account, and Truv retrieves their employment data after successful login.

Both methods are designed to ensure secure and efficient access to the necessary data while maintaining user privacy and control. Whether through SSO or direct login, Truv ensures that the authentication process is seamless and secure.
