Common troubleshooting for background screening platform integrations

This guide covers common troubleshooting steps for integrating Truv with background screening platforms. It includes API credential setup, webhook configuration, and platform-specific settings.

To ensure a seamless integration, follow our implementation guide, then conduct end-to-end testing using our Sandbox credentials. If you encounter issues, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

1. API Credential Configuration

  • Issue: Invalid or misconfigured API credentials can prevent successful integration.

  • Solution: Verify that your Client ID and Access Secret from the Truv Dashboard are correctly entered into your background screening platform's integration settings. Also, confirm you are using the Access Secret for the correct environment (Sandbox, Development, Production) 

2. Webhook Setup

  • Issue: Missing or incorrect webhook URLs can lead to a lack of status updates.

  • Solution: Ensure that the webhook URL provided by your background screening platform is accurately configured in the Truv Dashboard under Development > Webhooks.

3. Platform-Specific Configurations

  • Issue: Each background screening platform may have unique integration requirements.

  • Solution: Refer to platform-specific integration guides provided by Truv, such as those for TazWorks or Accio Data, to ensure adherence to specific setup and configuration protocols.
