Troubleshooting: Borrower Not Receiving ADP Verification Code (MFA)
When verifying your income or employment through Truv, you might choose to log in using your Phone Number + One-Time Code. If the text message containing your security code does not arrive, it is usually due to strict security rules on ADP's side.
Why Is the Code Not Arriving?
- Mismatched Profile Information: To prevent phishing, ADP uses a hidden security protocol. If you enter a phone number that doesn't exactly match your active ADP profile, the screen will still say a code was sent, but ADP will not actually send the text.
- Too Many Attempts (Rate Limiting): If you request a code multiple times or retry logging in too quickly, ADP will temporarily block all text messages to your number to protect your account.
- Carrier Network Delays: Standard mobile network congestion can occasionally delay or drop the automated text message from ADP's servers.
Recommended Steps to Fix
Step 1: Use Your Username and Password Instead
Bypassing the text message screen is the fastest way to connect.
- Return to the Truv verification login screen.
- Select the option to log in using your Username and Password instead of your phone number.
- Enter your regular ADP credentials to connect instantly.
Step 2: Reset Your Account Directly on ADP
If you do not remember your password or need to update your phone number:
- Open a new browser tab and go to the official ADP website (login.adp.com).
- Click "Forgot Your Username/Password?" to recover your credentials and verify the phone number on your profile is correct.
- Return to the Truv verification window and use your updated Username and Password to log in.
